Kelley Mauriello, RN, FNP-C, CALC is a trained Family Nurse Practitioner who practices at a private pediatric neurology office in Atlanta. Kelley is raising her own child with ADHD and understands the challenges this diagnosis can bring. ADHD impacts not only the child but the entire family. She believes there are many amazing gifts that come with having ADHD and it is her passion to help others unwrap their gifts and identify all the positive sides of ADHD. She has been working with children and adolescents with ADHD for many years.
Through the diagnosis and medical management of ADHD, Kelley has come to realize that medication improves some symptoms of ADHD but frequently there are other aspects of the diagnosis for which medication does not always help, like emotional dysregulation and executive function deficits.
Executive functions touch so many areas of daily life, as they help us get things done by directing our actions, controlling behavior, and motivating us to achieve goals and prepare for the future. Children and adults with ADHD frequently have problems with executive function, and Kelley believes it is best to identify these challenges and work through them so that one can live his or her best life.
Kelley recently received her certification as an ADHD Life Coach at the International ADHD Coach Training Center. Working with an ADHD life coach allows clients to better understand their ADHD and the challenges that come with it. Kelley offers coaching programs for all ages which includes individual one on one coaching for children, teens and adults.
